The presentation will address recent and upcoming changes in Mauritian labour law, particularly in response to evolving workplace trends. While physical office work has largely returned to normal post-COVID, long-term factors such as climate change will continue to highlight the need for remote work legislation. For example, the updated section 32(6) of WRA 2019, revised in 2022, covers worker remuneration during severe cyclones. The severe cyclone in early 2024 underscores the need for stronger WFH provisions. Additionally, the presentation will emphasize the growing importance of mediation in dispute resolution.
