The non-alcoholic market has gone from strength to strength in recent years, with constant innovation meaning that going booze-free is no longer an inferior choice. So, if you're looking for a convincing champagne stand-in, or a “nosecco”, we can reassure you that today's non-alcoholic sparklers are often a dead-ringer for the real deal.
Using the same grapes as you’d find in regular sparkling wine and made in the same way before being de-alcoholised, you’ll sometimes also find the addition of sparkling teas to help create the authentic tannin effect.
There are obvious health benefits to avoiding alcohol or reducing your intake, including improved energy levels, better sleep and clearer skin, while non-alcoholic sparkling wine also has fewer calories per glass than a higher ABV alternative.
So, whether you want to make the switch permanently, or just want to cut back, we’re confident these are the best bottles to celebrate with.

Score: 80/100
Noughty but oh-so-nice, we can certainly see why this stunning sparkler took the top spot in our alcohol-free taste test. Bursting with long-lasting bubbles, this dry, savoury style is well-balanced, with citrus, apple and thirst-quenching acidity.

Ethically sourced and eco-friendly, this sparkling wine also supports global ocean conservation projects.
However, here at The Good Housekeeping Institute, we're just as concerned with how it tastes and thankfully, it delivers. You can expect a prosecco-esque fresh aroma of apples and stone fruit, with a subtle floral quality and well-balanced salinity.
Score: 77/100
Zeno is a relative newbie to the alcohol-free aisle, and the brand takes an eco-friendly approach to producing wines that showcase grape varietals and terroirs. In this case, it's resulted in light and dry, elegant bubbles, with notes of elderflower and apple.

Wild Idol sits at the other end of the alcohol-free spectrum, with a price tag aimed at those who enjoy a cold, crisp glass of champagne. You'll find it in many high-end restaurants and bars, and even the packaging is on a par with France's most premium fizz.
Testers found it oh-to-easy to go back for a second glass of this grape juice-based drink, thanks to the combination of tart apple and uplifting grapefruit.

Equally delicious is Marks & Spencer's pink fizz, which uses gently fermented Darjeeling tea to replicate the tannins normally associated with our beloved bubbles.
Despite the pink shade, it's not overly sweet, with notes of fruity apricot and peach wrapped up in delicate bubbles.
Score: 75/100
Freixenet Alcohol Free is a convincing stand-in for its alcoholic fizz. Expect long-lasting yet light bubbles, plus sweeter notes of citrus peel, elderflower and crisp green apple. We’d pair this with fresh seafood dishes such as these zingy lime and coriander fish cakes.

Belle & Co blends naturally non-alcoholic sparkling grape juice and a green tea infusion to mimic the same ripe stone fruit flavour and gentle bubbles you’d expect of an alcoholic prosecco. Top with fresh peach purée for a better-for-you bellini.
Score: 73/100
Lyre’s proved a big hit in Good Housekeeping’s no- and low-alcohol spirit taste tests, so our panel had high hopes for its sparkling wine... and it delivered. Bursting with ripe tropical fruit (think mango, papaya and fresh peach) there's lively bubbles and well-balanced bitterness to finish.

Served in convenient ready-to-drink cans, Jukes is an excellent choice for parties and picnics. Unlike other recipes we tested, the brand uses apple cider vinegar as the base, which adds more depth and complexity then you'd expect from an AF wine.
Sharp and sweet, there's plenty going on, with cucumber, watermelon, and red berries coming to the fore.
Score: 72/100
Oddbird's sparkling caught our attention due to its citrus-spiked profile, hint of biscuit and generous bubbles. A great party choice for those who don’t want to miss out.

Made with glera grapes (aka those used to produce prosecco), this refreshing sparkler is full of tart green apple, lemon sherbet and elderflower, with pronounced bubbles and a mellow yet moreish sweetness. Perfect for popping when there’s cause for celebration... or on a regular Friday night.
Score: 71/100
Light and lemony, with a pleasing herbaceous note, you’ll be saying a big fat “yes” to this Nozeco. Testers were impressed by the depth of flavour here, especially given the budget price tag, and they enjoyed the delicate bubbles.

Combining chardonnay and pinot noir grapes from the Languedoc-Roussillon region, this is elegant, uplifting and reminiscent of rosé champagne in its complex summer berry and brioche flavour. Perhaps one to savour for special occasions, but oh-so tempting to have on regular rotation, too.
Score: 70/100
Kylie's successful wine range includes an alcohol-free option for those not drinking. It's a blend of European grapes and green tea and, similar to a classic rosé, you can expect notes of juicy strawberry and red apple. Although fruity and sweet, there's a little acidity for balance, and bold bubbles in the glass.

Just like a full-strength blanc de blanc, this alcohol-free sparkler is made with 100% chardonnay grapes, in this case, from Australia.
Testers found it refreshing with notes of crunchy green apple, mint and lemon sherbet, plus a touch of elderflower adding sweetness. A top choice if you're looking for a champagne stand-in.
Score: 70/100
With an intensely sweet nose, this fizz was loved by some, but too intense for others. That said, the lemon sherbet and apple were refreshing and the sweetness is lighter on the finish.

Like Noughty's sparkling chardonnay (above), this alcohol-free bevvy has a rich champagne yeastiness that justifies the price. You can also expect notes of lemon, white peach and melon, alongside red berries. Complex and delicious, we'll be keeping this rosé on standby throughout the festive season.
Score: 70/100
In the same vein as Freixenet's bottle above, this zero alcohol fizz is your answer to booze-free cava. However, this rosé version brings with it the addition of cherries, alongside notes of stone fruit and lemon zest.
