Living in the Fenway area, my future wife and I like to call this place "our spot". We love the neighborhood/family feel of the place not to mention the food is great too. From the sandwiches, pizzas and entrees, to the ever changing specials, there is a dish for everyone.

Went here last weekend, which was turning out to be a very bad idea....over hungry, rainy, and the Red Sox had a home game against the Yankees...parking nightmare, right? Nope, they have PARKING!!! And, not only do they have parking, but they have great food.

I don't know how I have lived in Boston all these years and not heard about this comfy neighborhood restaurant. The staff was really friendly and helpful, the food was fresh, the menu was interesting with a lot of good choices. The only negative is the bread, which is kind of, well...ehhh. But that is OK, because if you fill up on bread you won't have room for the yummy eats.

We were so happy to discover Canestaro's - tucked away on Peterborough St. in the Fenway. The food was fabulous -- really better than I would have expected from the unassuming look of this little neighborhood hideaway. It's really close to Fenway Park on a quaint side street. Our pastas were great the sauces were wonderful - I had the Spinach gnocchi and my friend had the Pollo Classico both were fantastic -- you can tell that they use fresh herbs and good ingredients. And the pasta was cooked perfectly. (Most restaurants overcook it, especially gnocchi , which really bugs me -- but not here, it was fabulous). The service was friendly and they really made us feel at home - a really nice neighborhood place - looks like a nice place for families. They do lot of pizzas too. Prices were good -- we highly recommend it and will go here again next time we make it to Boston.

Canestaro's Restaurant and Pizzeria, just a few blocks from Fenway Park, has a nice outdoor patio, good pizza, and big pasta dishes. Entrees range from fettuccine Alfredo to grilled sirloin, or dig into a chicken Parmesan or a meatball Parmesan sandwich, a large plain pizza, or pasta entrees.

The New York Times

Enjoyed a meal that was very similar to what I've had in the North End, but without the waits and crowds. Have only been here once, but will definitely come back again. Outdoor seating is a nice option on the quaint Peterborough street.
